First, thank you for your kind words.

Now to your questions:

1) Optional words sometimes not being optional. Unfortunately, we have noticed this behavior and traced it back to the speech recognition engine. That means that we cannot do much about it (fix it or predict it). Additional training sessions might improve this problem...

As you have discovered, there are ways to work around this problem (although resulting in more cumbersome expressions).

2) At this point Qubit Master does not support nesting of optional words inside of bracketed alternatives. It does seem like something that could simplify (longer, more flexible) expressions. We will look into adding it in one of the future releases. Thank you.
