Reminder - a menu drop-down button. Clicking the button itself
or selecting Reminder from the drop-down menu opens the Reminder
application. Selecting Announce from the menu causes character to announce pending events.
Mail - checks for e-mail on one POP3 account (specified under
Options->Mail Accounts...).
If there is any mail, character announces the number of messages, who they are from and
their subjects.
Voice - another menu drop-down button. Clicking the
button opens up the Phrase
Substitutions management dialog. Accessible from the menu are speech
recognition training and microphone wizard.
SR Off - causes complete suspension of speech recognition. To
be used when there is significant noise in the background or when user wishes to reduce
the strain on the system (e.g. on Pentium II 400MHz, 10-50% of the processing power are
used by the engine when there is a sound in the background).
SR Pause - causes speech recognition engine to stop listening for
all the commands except the [Start Listening] one. This is to be used when there is noise
in the background but strain on the system is of no particular importance. Advantage over SR
Off command is that full voice recognition can be resumed by a voice command.
Mute - causes character to cease talking and reduces
interaction to a (comic-book type) thought balloon.
Hotkeys - opens the Hotkeys
management dialog.
Options - opens up the Options
dialog with two pages: Main and Advanced. Here various
options are specified.
